– KakaoHealthcare, comprehensive health screening organization ‘KMI Korea Medical Institute’, and customized lifelong health management service company ‘Saluscare’ will collaborate for diabetes management.
– Health screening participants with diabetes or prediabetes will be provided Saluscare’s ‘Vitaport’ and KakaoHealthcare’s ‘PASTA’.
[July 1, 2024] KakaoHealthcare (CEO Hwang Hee) announced on July 1st the initiation of a collaborative effort for the management and improvement of diabetes, together with KMI Korea Medical Institute (Chairman Yi Sangho), which operates the largest medical checkup center in South Korea, and Saluscare (CEO Hwang Hyunjung), a company specializing in bespoke lifelong healthcare management services.
Diabetes is a condition that often does not present noticeable symptoms in its early stages, making it difficult for individuals to recognize abnormalities on their own. When symptoms do become evident, the diabetes may have already progressed significantly, complicating treatment efforts. Consequently, regular health screenings and ongoing management are essential to effectively control diabetes.
Accordingly, the three companies have agreed to collaborate to manage diabetes among health screening participants identified as having diabetes or prediabetes at KMI Korea Medical Institute health centers. The plan is to provide personalized health management services and content by linking Saluscare’s health screening follow-up management service ‘Vitaport’ with KakaoHealthcare’s AI-based mobile glucose management service ‘PASTA’.
In particular, the collaboration will combine KakaoHealthcare’s AI and mobile technology capabilities with KMI Korea Medical Institute’s top-tier health screening proficiency and Saluscare’s expertise in follow-up management services, aiming to focus on early detection and reduce the prevalence of diabetes among high-risk groups.
KMI Korea Medical Institute operates eight health screening centers nationwide. Saluscare offers health screening reservations, results inquiries, and personalized healthcare services through ‘Vitaport’.
CEO Hwang Hee stated, “There are approximately 5.7 million diabetic patients in South Korea, with another 15 million in the prediabetic stage. Through our collaboration with KMI Korea Medical Institute and Saluscare, we aim to contribute to the health promotion of chronic diseases, including diabetes, and pursue market expansion for PASTA.” (End)
