Recognized for its innovation, functionality, quality, and sustainability, PASTA secures a prestigious award within just one year of its launch.

Kakao Healthcare announced that its AI-powered mobile blood glucose management solution, PASTA, has been selected as a Winner in the Communication category at the IF Design Award 2025 in Germany.

The IF Design Award, along with the IDEA in the United States and the Red Dot Design Award in Germany, is one of the world’s top three design awards. It comprehensively evaluates innovation, functionality, quality, and sustainability in design, and winning products are featured in the IF World Design Guide, granting them significant global recognition.

PASTA, the award-winning AI-powered mobile blood glucose management solution, is designed for individuals who need blood glucose monitoring. It utilizes continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) devices, such as Dexcom G7 and CareSens Air, allowing users to track their real-time blood glucose levels while easily logging their daily habits through photos and voice input. This intuitive system helps users understand the relationship between lifestyle choices and blood glucose levels. The Vision AI feature identifies food items, nutrients, and calorie content when users take photos of their meals, making dietary tracking effortless. Additionally, users can record exercise, insulin intake, and medications. Smart lens technology enables automatic recording of biometric signals such as body composition and blood pressure, and voice input further simplifies data entry. The recorded lifestyle habits are visualized through graphs and real-time blood glucose trends, empowering users to develop healthier routines.

Furthermore, PASTA analyzes CGM data over time, summarizing key metrics such as glucose variability (CV), glucose management indicator (GMI), time in range (TIR), average blood glucose levels, glucose highlights, meal analysis, exercise insights, and weight trends. The platform also generates reports that clearly categorize users’ blood glucose trends into strengths and areas for improvement. Recognizing that health management is more effective with support, PASTA allows real-time blood glucose data sharing with family and friends, offering encouragement features. It also includes dedicated communities for families, workplaces, and social support, along with user forums and personalized content.

Since its launch in February last year, PASTA has been downloaded approximately 150,000 times, with 110,000 users having worn a CGM at least once. Users have logged approximately 2.65 million meal records and 2.2 million exercise records through the platform.

Kakao Healthcare continues to enhance its design by addressing common pain points of conventional health management apps, such as the inconvenience of meal, exercise, and health data input, challenges in interpreting analyzed data, difficulties in sharing health data with family and friends, and the integration of hospital electronic medical records (EMR) with the app.

Dr. Hee Hwang, CEO of Kakao Healthcare, stated, “We have focused on making health management apps more user-friendly and improving the readability of health reports. This award recognizes Kakao Healthcare’s commitment to user-centered convenience and creative value on a global scale. We will continue to enhance our features and quality to earn the trust of our users worldwide.”
